About :

André Raison (1640 – 1719) was an influential French classical composer. He lived during the time of the great Johann Sebastian Bach. For those familiar with Bach's great Passacaglia, you will notice that the Cantus Firmus (tune) is in fact based on it! This little movement was recorded on the Cavaillé-Coll organ of St. Eucaire in Metz, France, using the Hauptwerk VPO software.

This movement is from his Messe du Deuziesme Ton "3. Christe - Trio en Passacaille". Trio meaning that the composition is in three distinctive parts. The tune gave me the opportunity to showcase this instrument's Voix Humaine (buzzy reed stop) against the 8' + 4' Flutes on the Grand Orgue.
